Silly Royale brings 8v8 mode in massive update

The Pune-based game studio, SuperGaming, has revealed a new temporary 8v8 game mode for Silly Royale called ‘Squad Island.’ In this mode, players take on the roles of survivors and guards, engaging in battles on levels inspired by the popular Netflix series, Squid Game.

SuperGaming had previously introduced Honeycomb Dalgona and Tug of War levels in December, along with a Streamer Mode that serves as a lobby moderation system for content creators. This mode allows them to select viewers to join their games. Squad Island integrates all these levels into one cohesive experience, dropping players onto a deserted island where they compete against each other.

The update introduces a fresh map, 16-player lobbies (8 on each side), and two separate voice channels for effective communication among teammates. Players can vote for the levels they want to play, and the mode eliminates the concept of eliminations, promoting teamwork.

Christelle D’cruz, General Manager and co-founder at SuperGaming, expressed, “On average, players spend 48 minutes in Silly Royale, and one of the most requested features from the community is the ability to squad up with friends. Squad Island is our attempt at doing just that, allowing you to enjoy more of the Silly Royale experience with your favorite people.”

Earlier in the year, SuperGaming unveiled its upcoming battle royale title, Indus, scheduled for a late 2022 release on mobile, consoles, and Windows PC. Following a futuristic theme, Indus incorporates elements of Indian culture into its general architecture.

In addition to game development, SuperGaming is venturing into the blockchain space with plans to create web3-based titles. Their new initiative, Tegro, aims to revolutionize microtransactions by enabling users to purchase and play with in-game assets powered by NFTs (non-fungible tokens).
